Founded by Loraine Whittle almost 35 years ago, The Dutch Flower Shop based in Woolton is one of the longest standing family-run businesses in the region. They started off in 1980 with just a small delivery van and a few loyal customers. Following request for flowers Dutch Flower Shop travelled to Holland to procure a Dutch supplier in 1985/86. Business blossomed from there. The arrangement that I ordered for Mother’s Day was a beautiful bright arrangement of flowers arranged in a gold wrap. What arrived was a very dull arrangement in a black box. It was the absolute polar opposite to what I was expecting and what I ordered. Very disappointed and so was my mother. I was so embarrassed when she sent me a photo of what she received.

The flowers were not 'delivered', they were put behind a wheelie bin outside the door without any attempt made to knock on the door, ring the bell or put a delivery card through the letterbox. My mother-in-law was at home all day. She only knew they were there because we phoned her the next day. So it was not the lovely suprise delivery one expects of flowers-to-the-door. It was lucky they weren't stolen given the place they were left. Dissapointing. She said the flowers themselves were lovely but I will not be using direct2florist or the Dutch Flower Shop again for this type of flower delivery.

Item not delivered on Christmas Eve. Left messages No response had to chase on 27 December. Company was apologetic and upgraded order and included a small box of chocolates but flowers were not as nice as the ones I originally ordered . Also included a lily despite me asking for no lilies.

Arrangement arrived late in the day (16:25). Some flowers were broken. The arrangement differed greatly to one ordered. Flowers lasted 2 days. The oasis was held together by tape. Hugely disappointed as this was a gift for a 60th wedding anniversary.
