About & History:

Petals Florist of Plymouth originally began life at the old Co-op supermarket in Transit Way. Present Proprietor, Shirley Haughey, started commercial floristry in the supermarket stall back in 1986 and after a short period, became supervisor over 7 staff of what was going to be an exciting beginning of Petals. During this time at Transit Way, Petals were responsible for servicing all local Co-op Funeral Directors in the Plymouth area as well as busily providing day to day fresh arrangements, bouquets & gifts. Sadly the Co-op closed in January 2001, redundancies ensued & the store was subsequently acquired by Tesco to which it still remains today. Petals however, remained a fully functioning business & was re-located as an independent florist shop within the popular city centre West End's Pannier Market Hall. Shirley purchased the business in March 2001 & employed 3 of the original Co-op staff to accompany her as she could see the potential Petals could offer considering its proven history & dedicated customer following. Together with the expertise of Shirley & her talented staff, Petals has grown from strength to strength over the years, even during difficult times such as the present recession, the business still thrives with pride & passion. Thanks to Shirleys philosophy of providing a friendly & helpful service to all, whether from a query, a single stem or to providing fresh flowers for an elaborate wedding, or even 1000 white fresh roses for Disney's 'Alice in Wonderland', filmed on location at Anthony House, Petals will always provide you with the utmost customer care & attention.

They delivered what I ordered and the recipient totally loved them. Very easy to use the website. A lady from the website phoned me as I just missed the cut off for delivery that day. She was very friendly and explained exactly what was happening. The flowers were delivered the following morning.

Didn't even want to give it one star to be honest . I chose my bouquet to send to my friend and paid £39. The flowers arrived at my friend's and they looked so bleak and cheap so I emailed the company. I got an email from the florist who made the bouquet and it was quite a curt and non apologetic gave me the cost of delivery and how much they make after direct2florist take their share. I told them it looked like flowers from garage and next they they turned up with few more flowers to add to bouquet I guess but the whole process was unsavoury

I have had flowers etc sent via other companies, and in some cases the plants/flowers, were not pleasant to look at as the petals were brown and the flower heads dying! I asked for the florists selection, I mentioned in the comments box that my sisters favourite flower was pink roses and asked if possible<br />to include at least one pink rose but it was mainly yellow and orange chrysanthemums with a few orange small carnations and one pink lily! I do not think that the arrangement was good value for the cost and would not use petals florist again.
